CNC Machining Center

What is a CNC machining center?

CNC machining center are developed from CNC milling machine. The biggest difference from CNC milling machine is that the machining center has the ability to automatically exchange processing tools. By installing tools for different purposes on the tool magazine, the processing tools on the spindle can be changed through the automatic tool changer in one clamping to achieve a variety of processing function.

CNC machining center is a high-efficiency automated machine tool composed of mechanical equipment and CNC system suitable for processing complex parts. CNC machining center is one of the most productive and widely used CNC machine tools in the world. Its comprehensive processing capability is strong, and the workpiece can complete more processing content after one clamping. The processing accuracy is high. For batch workpieces with medium processing difficulty, its efficiency is 5 to 10 times that of ordinary equipment. In particular, it can complete Many processes that ordinary equipment cannot complete are more suitable for single-piece processing with complex shapes and high precision requirements or small and medium-sized batches of multi-variety production. It concentrates the functions of milling, boring, drilling, tapping and thread cutting on one piece of equipment, enabling it to have a variety of processing procedures and techniques. Machining centers are classified according to the spatial position of the spindle during machining: horizontal and vertical machining centers. Classified by process use: boring and milling machining centers, composite machining centers. Special classifications according to functions include: single workbench, double workbench and multi-workbench machining centers. Single-axis, double-axis, three-axis and interchangeable spindle box machining centers. According to the guide rail classification, there are: linear rail machining center, hard rail machining center, etc.

Classification Of CNC Machining Center

CNC machining centers are often divided into vertical machining centers and horizontal machining centers according to the state of the spindle in space. A machining center whose spindle is vertical in space is called a vertical machining center, and a machining center whose spindle is horizontal in space is called a vertical machining center. Horizontal machining center. The spindle can be converted vertically and horizontally, which is called a vertical or horizontal machining center or a five-sided machining center, also known as a composite machining center. According to the number of columns in the machining center, there are single column type and double column type (gantry type).

According to the number of motion coordinates of the CNC machining center and the number of coordinates controlled at the same time: there are three-axis two-linkage, three-axis three-linkage, four-axis three-linkage, five-axis four-linkage, six-axis five-linkage, etc. Three-axis and four-axis refer to the number of motion coordinates the machining center has, and linkage refers to the number of coordinates the control system can control at the same time, thereby achieving position and speed control of the tool relative to the workpiece.

According to the number and functions of worktables: there are single workbench machining centers, double workbench machining centers, and multi-workbench machining centers.

According to CNC machining tolerance: there are ordinary machining centers and high-precision machining centers. An ordinary machining center has a resolution of 1 μm, a maximum feed speed of 15 to 25 m/min, and a positioning accuracy of about 10 μm. High-precision machining center, resolution is 0.1μm, maximum feed speed is 15~100m/min, and positioning accuracy is about 2μm. Those between 2 and 10 μm, with more ±5 μm, can be called precision grade.
