CNC lathe machining is also called CNC turning. It is mainly used to manufacture axially symmetric parts. CNC lathes can also process internal holes, threads, engravings, etc.
CNC milling machines are used to process complex shapes, such as planes (horizontal, vertical) , grooves (key grooves, T-grooves, ant grooves), gears, helices (threads, spiral grooves) and various curved surfaces.

Generally speaking, stainless steel materials used for CNC machining need to have dimensional stability, processability, ease of processing, corrosion resistance, impact resistance, and other properties. Some stainless steel materials meet these standards, however, not all stainless steel materials are suitable for processing on CNC machines. The term stainless steel covers a very wide range. The more common stainless steel grades used for CNC machining include SS303, SS304, SS316, SS416, SS17-4PH, SS15-5, etc. The difference in machinability of all stainless steel materials lies in the amount of other metals added.
