PTFE for CNC Machining

What is PTFE?

Polytetrafluoroethylene, commonly known as “Plastic King”, is a high molecular polymer prepared by polymerization of tetrafluoroethylene as a monomer. PTFE is usually known by its trade name Teflon. Teflon is a fluorocarbon solid with higher temperature resistance than all common engineering plastics. CNC machining of PTFE is easy to process due to its low strength, relative softness and good thermal stability.

Advantages of CNC machining PTFE:

  • CNC machining PTFE parts can be precisely cut to size to ensure that the tolerance of the parts is within an acceptable range;
  • CNC machining PTFE can be customized in small batches or in large batches. The production method is flexible and can be adjusted according to demand;
  • CNC machined PTFE parts ensure a high surface finish;
  • CNC machined PTFE can be used in almost all industries.
