What is CNC Turning Center?
CNC turning center, is the machine we provide CNC turning services, it is an advanced CNC lathe controlled by computer programming. The CNC turning machining center adds a C-axis and a power head on the basis of the ordinary CNC lathe. Due to the addition of C-axis and milling power head, the processing function of ordinary CNC lathe is greatly enhanced. In addition to general turning, precision CNC turning can also be performed, such as radial and axial milling, surface milling, holes whose centerline is not at the center of rotation of the part, and radial hole drilling.
What is the difference between a CNC turning center and a CNC lathe?
As mentioned earlier, CNC turning centers are more advanced CNC lathes. Both are subtractive machining, which allows cutting tools to remove excess parts from the raw material, so that the part on the CAD drawing becomes a real thing. However, ordinary CNC lathes are usually 2-axis machines and have only one spindle, while CNC turning centers can have as many as 5 axes and are also more powerful in terms of cutting capabilities. In addition, there is no protective casing on the CNC lathe machine, and it does not have the high-precision production capacity of the CNC turning center.
